Pencils
Thursday, February 4, 2010
One small part of being an artist and a writer is to have a decent respect for the tools that you use. While my current pictured collection numbers in the 100s, but my collection of sketchbooks is relatively high too. One of these days I will go forth with actually getting rid of some of these things.
I do not know why I have so many pencils, keep in mind, mechanical pencils. Some of them repeat in style, function and lead size (primarily 0.5mm) so there isn't a variety in them.
Interestingly enough, I have enough supplies that have lasted me a little over four or five years. Ramble Ramble. Rumble Rumble.
What was it I was saying again? Oh yeah, my pencils. Well, hmm. I got the idea to try and see exactly how far some 10 years of collecting mechanical pencils by brand and type has taken me. I've lost more than I can originally remember so, what is pictured here is rare for me.
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA,The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.Any fucking time. Any fucking day. Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
The other "fun" part of this entire post, is that, I have actually counted how many pencils I have. I rotate, shift, re-organize them by color, size, function and other things. Which is pathetic in the long run because how I write with them all depends on my mood at the time.
What was I going on about again? Oh yeah these fucking sitcoms suck. YO MOMMA.

This is the year of our discount tent

As you may know the only way for a writer to get better is to write on a daily basis. Not only does repetition increase the likely hood of some 'progression' but, repetition often makes a writer notice habits. The longer you spend with a specific body of work however, will do more harm than good to the piece, thus frustrating the writer to quit. It has been over several weeks that I pondered on "how" to specifically increase the chances of some feedback with my writing. I have the small circle of friends, but, none of the deviantart masses that help good artist(sarcasm) become better with constructive criticism.
So, I have turned to adultfanfiction.net to help out with their community. The community itself is pretty large by far and as I was recently recruited by one of the writers in my community to invest the time into the site, I have come to like what i've seen so far.
Where does that put me? Well, in a way, I'll start releasing my work on my website first, then taking the trip over to AFF to post my work again. I will even post a link to the AFF site where my work is currently for comments and feedback. I hope that in the future it may inspire me to produce more work. I have a couple (read:2) stories that I am working on, a few could be might be full length books and other ideas.
and believe it or not i am drawing too.
What a fun year this will be.
Creepy leering Richard

The most entertaining aspect behind Usamaru Furuya's work, is his satire. In a comic strip parodying the infamous Richard D. James leer. Type in "AphexTwin" to any search engine, and almost immediately Richard's grin becomes synonymous to his body of musical work. Why does this involve anything that happens on my website? Largely his work inspires me to think up some of the more controversial and 'imaginative' pieces that borderline obscure. The fact that Usamaru Furuya can parody Richard and the AphexTwin brand is even more fun.
Archive is coming..damn it..
Friday, January 1, 2010
the archive is a dumbed down simplified version of my main site to offer the attention deficite impaired a quicker way to browse the website. I'd jab a little more information about it, but, the truth to its creation relies on php scripts i want to use in the near future. The PHP script will allow me to update three pages at once, one simplified, the archive page for 'news' and the 'uploads' section. Uploads will contain the name of a writing work, a thumbnail of the work or updates to the site. In a way, I could argue that creating a twitter page is easier, but, I do not have a mobile phone, I really see no point if I can do the work myself and twitter does not reward the same amount of satisfaction I get from doing the work myself.
take that social networking
however, the uploads section is a mental reminder, since I dislike to clutter the front page with thumbnails and things every few days, hours, minutes, uploads is the simplest form of dictating what I did, as quickly as possible. So, it could be apart of my resolutions, to do more work this year and put more time away for HTML and PHP coding. Who knows. If I ever get to good at art and writing, some body please kick me.
